Victorian Lace Necklace with Maria Richmond

CLASS DESCRIPTION  Come join us and create an stunning necklace while you build your wire skills. This is class one of "Learn Wire Wrapping with Maria Richmond" Fall 2017 six part series.  You can enroll in one class or all six.  Join Maria as she helps you learn to create your own bib-type copper spiral necklace, complete with Czech glass dangles. The techniques you’ll learn can be adapted for many other types of jewelry including earrings that may be created in class as time allows. A detailed tutorial will be provided.  Some skills or techniques to be learned:

  1. Create evenly spaced spirals
  2. Wire wrap evenly sized dangles
  3. Make your own clasps.

INSTRUCTOR  Artist Maria Richmond draws her inspiration from the possibilities she sees in ordinary objects and materials. While she plays with wire, she often envisions unique ways of combining traditional, repurposed, and found objects into her creations. She regularly teaches in Western Pennsylvania, as well as other venues. She teaches basic and intermediate techniques in a relaxed atmosphere. Her goal is to help her students find their own creative voice and the endless possibilities in the seemingly mundane.

SKILL LEVEL Confident beginner/intermediate. Must know basic wire wrapping.
